Due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we would like to make you aware of some changes to our practice.
Our NHS emergency staff are doing an amazing and difficult job. We should support them in the best way we can by reducing the risk of infection, and thereby reducing the number of hospital admissions.
Based on advice from NHS England and The College of Optometrists we are advising you to safely delay any routine visits for now.
'Essential' visits will continue for now following phone triaging. We are operating a one in one out policy for now. 'Essential' visits include providing replacement spectacles for a key worker who has broken theirs, or seeing patients with acute eye- or sight-related symptoms.
Please call us if you are experiencing any vision problems, you have run out of contacts or if you have broken/lost your glasses and we will advise you on the best course of action. In some cases we can order glasses/contacts remotely minimising the visits made to the practice. The regulatory bodies have made allowances to be more flexible during this tricky period.
We have also modified our procedures and layout in the practice in accordance with the latest advice. We can deliver any glasses or contacts to help with physical distancing
I will try and post updates if and when the situation changes.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding and patience during this uncertain time.
